Ripley Fire Departments are the Napoleon Volunteer Fire Company and Batesville Fire Department & Rescue 10. The Napoleon Volunteer Fire Company opened in the mid 1950s as non-profit corporation volunteer fire department. Currently this fire department has 22 Fire Fighter Volunteers.

The Napoleon Volunteer Fire Company provides fire protection to residents of the Napoleon community, as well as rural northeastern Ripley County and southeastern Decatur County in Indiana. The Napoleon Volunteer Fire Company serves a major stone quarry, one of a handful of the main Hoosier Energy power distribution plants, a significant hardwood facility, and a large agricultural chemical storage facility apart from the county’s residents and businesses.

The Batesville Fire Department & Rescue 10 more than protects 8000 people living in an area of 15 square miles. The 43 members of this fire station are mainly volunteer and operate under one station. The members are formed by a combination of EMT's, Firefighter/EMT's and Firefighter/First Responders. Services provided by the Batesville Fire Department & Rescue 10 include Firefighting, ALS Emergency Medical Service, and Vehicle Rescue (Extrication).
